Blue Innovation Day 2024 at the Seymour Center
COI was happy to return to the 2nd Blue Innovation Day at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center! Blue Innovation Day connects researchers, organizations, and community members dedicated to safeguarding our ocean and water sources.
It was a fun-filled, busy day - engaging with over 200 visitors, including teachers, families, college students, and potential volunteers and partners. Our physical examples—like plastic rope turned to fuel—sparked meaningful conversations about the circular economy and how efforts like ours can make a real difference.
One of the most heartwarming interactions was with three young girls, aged 10-13, who asked insightful questions about sustainability. Their curiosity and commitment to reducing plastic waste, symbolized by their refillable water bottles, gave us hope for the future.
We made many valuable connections, including meeting Moki from CHEER. The event was a great success, and we look forward to participating again and furthering efforts to protect our oceans.
See you at BI'25!
