Main Beach Post-4th-of-July Beach Cleanup
The COI team and dedicated volunteers gathered early in the morning on July 5th, following the large crowds that celebrated the 4th of July. With inland temperatures soaring, the beach became a popular spot for festivities, drawing many people looking to have a great time by the water.
However, the heavy turnout resulted in a significant amount of trash being left behind. The team worked hard, and with our star volunteers Clive and Barbara, we collected an impressive 42 pounds of debris.
There were other trash warriors collecting trash that morning and thanks to everyone's collective effort, much of the debris was collected. Thank you to everyone who helped keep plastic trash from reaching the ocean!
This cleanup highlighted the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together for a common cause. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in the cleanup. Your efforts play a crucial role in protecting our marine environment and ensuring our beaches remain beautiful and safe for all to enjoy.
