Rossi Natural SkincareRossi Natural Skincare is a brand of personal care products established in the United Kingdom. It brings 100% natural and high quality personal care products with a set of brand values that promote personal well being and also the well being of the environment by raising awareness of environmental concerns most notably those affected the oceans. Rossi Natural Skincare is developing contacts around the world which will, by being partners with Clean Oceans International, spread the word of oceanic environmental concerns to many different people in many countries.
Their message is simple; we all use a variety of materials in connection with a multitude of consumer products and we always will. But we can use and recycle those materials in a much more responsible way to mitigate and eventually resolve the damage we are doing to the environment.” |
Congressman Sam Farr“I appreciate COI’s strong leadership in finding innovative, technological solutions to this ever growing problem, as well as your support for H.R. 1171, the Reauthorization of the Marine Debris Research, Prevention, and Reduction Act. Cleaning up the plastic in the Pacific Gyre is a critical piece to this puzzle, and I am proud to have leaders like Nick Drobac and Captain Jim Holm in my district. I look forward to working with you as we continue to spread the message about marine debris.” — Congressman Sam Farr

Route 1 FarmsThere are some people who are so far ahead of the trend that they set them. As the owner of Route 1 Farms Jeff Larkey has proven that to be the case time and again.
Route 1 Farms is a foundation in the evolving movement towards ecologically based agriculture growing quality organic produce for over twenty-five years. They have grown to meet the needs of the community without sacrificing the ideals of sustainability, productivity, beauty and efficiency. Route 1 seeks to be harmonious with nature and the people who work the land. Jeff Larkey and his crew are stewards of 65 acres of beautiful and fertile Santa Cruz coastal valley farmland, including fields at Rancho del Oso along Waddell Creek, as well as Ocean St. Extension at the rural/urban fringe along the San Lorenzo River. Route 1 sells produce at local Farmers Markets and set a new trend in 2012 when they stopped providing plastic bags for customers at their stands. It took some time, but many of the other vendors have followed Jeff’s lead. They do provide Bio-bags at a $.25 per bag charge to motivate customers to bring their own bags. Proceeds are donated to support the work of Clean Oceans International. |
